In order to save time and costs, it is important to avoid errors in production before they can recur. Producing companies should therefore manufacture a product only then at a constant level of quality after it has already been produced a certain number of times under the realistic conditions of a series production. The initial samples manufactured here must also be submitted to the customer for inspection and approval before the product can go into series production. If the initial samples meet the customer’s requirements and are released for production, the series product must be manufactured on the basis established here as well as under consistent conditions. BabtecQ supports your company in this process and thus enables you to produce goods that meet the required quality standards.
The "Part Approval Process" module in BabtecQ provides you with comprehensive support for the effective implementation and management of your approval processes. The requirements of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) according to AIAG and Production Process and Product Approval (PPA) according to VDA Volume 2 are supported. You either derive the characteristics of the initial sample part from the specifications of a CAD drawing or transfer them from other part approval processes, from inspection plans or data in Q-DAS format. The initial sample inspection report (ISIR) created from the inspection serves the supplier as proof that the delivered products meet the customer's quality requirements.
If several part approval processes in a similar form become necessary, you don't have to start from scratch each time: In BabtecQ, you can store your own templates for part approval processes, which you can quickly refer to as needed. A customer-specific template can, for example, contain the specific evidence required by the customer or by an industry standard.
Access CAD drawings, characteristic information in Q-DAS format and existing part approval processes or inspection plans to conveniently import inspection characteristics.
You can manage initial sample approvals clearly from the supplier or customer perspective. Decisions that have been made are recognizable at a glance thanks to the intuitive visualization with symbols and colors. In the initial sample inspection, you can save additional information such as the nest or batch number for each measured value.
Documents that are required for part approval processes can be merged from other BabtecQ modules. For example, you can refer directly to process FMEAs, control plans or gauge capability tests for part approval processes. Versioning of the documents allows you to always have an overview of the different processing statuses. Tasks that arise in the course of the part approval process can be directly assigned to the responsible persons by the central task and action management.
