Summer, Sun, Schwebebahnlauf

What would the Wuppertal summer be without the legendary Schwebebahnlauf? Yesterday, the time had come again: more than 8,000 runners gathered on the B7 along the valley axis to face the sportive challenge.

Since 2013, the Wuppertal main road has been the scene of the big running competition on the first weekend in July. Runners come from all parts of NRW and even from all over Germany to prove their fitness in 5-, 10- or 21-kilometer races. But not only the participants of the contest are enthusiastic every year, also the spectators are offered a lot - not least a familiar party atmosphere with a city festival feeling.

Go Team Babtec!

Of course, we participated again, because the company run has become a tradition for us. Since the first Schwebebahnlauf seven years ago, Team Babtec has proven its sporty ambition and a fantastic collegial spirit. Because not only the number of runners is noteworthy year after year, but also family, friends and colleagues at the wayside give everything to support the runners with cheers and refreshing drinks.

And what about the suspension railway?

In keeping with the great atmosphere of the weekend, there were also motivating news from the WSW last week. As the Wuppertaler Rundschau reports, the test runs for the new operating system have been completed and nothing stands in the way of a resumption of the Schwebebahn operation on August 01.
