Babtec Develops Its Headquarters in Wuppertal

Software provider Babtec continues to grow: The company bolsters its Wuppertal offices with new office space at its Clausenstrasse premises. 30 new work stations have been set up in these modern offices, designed for creative working.

Innovative, open and stylish – these are the key words that describe the newly designed office space at Babtec Informationssysteme GmbH in Wuppertal. The building in the Clausen district, which used to be a factory for renowned German dairy brand Tuffi, now houses 30 new work stations on approx. 600 m2 of additional space, created for the software company.

Modern interiors combine with the former factory’s authentic aesthetic to produce a unique atmosphere that employees feel energized and calm in. Large windows which reach down to the floor ensure that the work stations in the open-office area receive a lot of light and give an airy feel to the space. As a special highlight, there is a light-flooded atrium right at the center of the hall. All of this fits Babtec’s corporate culture to a T: “Openness and transparency are the fundamental principles upon which our 20 years of success are based. Our new, modern office space forms part of our future vision. It offers a work environment that encourages creativity and innovation”, said Division Manager Susanne Hermann, who managed the project.

Futuristic work places for tomorrow

The work stations meet all the needs that an individual as well as the working environment could have: height-adjustable desks, sofas and a shower have all been installed, and full accessibility has been ensured. Babtec employees actively partook in developing the concept for this space: They felt that good communication and having the option to discuss things with each other one-on-one was particularly important. The open space has top-grade noise insulation, which enables spontaneous discussions to take place without disturbing other colleagues. In addition, multi-purpose office furniture has been installed. This can be used according to employees’ needs, such as a sofa transforming into a work desk. The furniture can also be rebuilt into a separate meeting room. This contributes to the feel of an open-plan space. In addition, short exchanges can be held in the open kitchen with bar tables.

Employees’ wishes and ideas mainly stem from the current digitalization and personalization megatrends. Babtec wants to continue zoning in on these: The “Creative Base” will soon be completed with eight revamped meeting rooms. These extra creative spaces will enable work to be mobile, where needed: creative brainstorming, traditional meetings, a short-time retreat or bigger events with Babtec’s guests can all take place here.
